Spokane is the largest city and county seat of Spokane County, Washington, United States. It’s home to many higher education institutions and one of these is the Gonzaga University – Home of the Bulldogs.

This private institution was established in 1887 by Father Joseph Cataldo. It’s a Roman Catholic institution named for Saint Aloysius Gonzaga, initially known as Gonzaga College which became a university in 1912, when the law was added. Despite the university being a Roman Catholic institution, it is open for all kinds of faith.

If you’re a college basketball fan, you’ve probably heard of Gonzaga University. It is part of the NCAA Division I West Coast Conference and their official mascot is the Bulldog, this explains why Gonzaga is Home of the Bulldogs and players are nicknamed the Zags.

Ranked 79th in the U.S. News & World Report 2020 rankings of national universities, the 152 acres campus is located in a residential setting a half-mile from downtown Spokane. Gonzaga University houses 105 buildings next to the Spokane River. It has great athletic facilities and mixture of old and new buildings which proves that it is truly a historic institution. Aside from its beautiful architecture, one senses the pride of the attendees on campus. Home to a strong Basketball team, Gonzaga is also known for its scholastic and artistic achievements.

Gonzaga University ranks #80 in the 2021 edition of Best College. It offers more than 75 undergraduate majors and programs, an average class size of 22, and a student-to-faculty ratio of 12:1. Whether it be through the fields of nursing, psychology, health and fitness, or music, Gonzaga aims to guide students to becoming a person who helps others to lead more fulfilling lives.

Intramural sports are very popular at Gonzaga, their sports facilities and equipment are being used by over 72% of the student population as they participate at various levels may it be competitive or recreational.

Gonzaga has significantly grown over the years. Near the heart of downtown Spokane, this university lives up to its reputation in the area as a lovely campus where everyone would be thrilled to see it in person.
